Evaluation of Sustainable Water Resource Use in the Tarim River Basin Based on Water Footprint

Quantifying water use for agricultural production and accurate evaluation is important achieving a balance between supply demand sustainable use, especially in arid regions. This study quantifies the footprint of food Tarim River Basin (TRB) from 2000 to 2019 by conducting sustainability using both DPSIR model as theoretical framework, analyzing spatial temporal changes. The results show that TRB increased 2.15 m3/kg 2.86 per unit during period. average annual weighted basin 2.59 m3/kg, which 2.41 blue 0.18 green water. Blue inputs contribute more than 94% annually. Furthermore, although level increased, its score low, with most prominent stress assessment value indicating poor regional use. Prior 2010, region’s was less 0.4, resources were at or below basic unsustainability. By 2019, however, areas better greater 0.4., 80% region above 0.2.
